Revatio (sildenafil)

The drug is also known under the name of sildenafil. You can buy Revatio without prescription. Generic Revatio is available as well. Revatio works by relaxing muscles and increasing blood flow to certain regions of the body. Revatio may also be taken for other purposes not mentioned here.

Revatio (sildenafil) belongs to phosphodiesterase inhibitors. It works by relaxing walls of blood vessels in the lungs, which in its turn decreases blood pressure.

In case you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember and continue taking as prescribed. If too much time has passed and it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go on with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take double dose of the medicine to make up the dose you missed.
>> Safety information:
It is not recommended to take Revatio if you are currently taking medications contasining nitrates for treating chest pain or heart-related problems. This includes nitroglycerin (Nitro-Bid, Nitrostat, , Nitro-Dur, Nitrolingual, etc.), isosorbide dinitrate (Sorbitrate, Isordil, Dilatrate-SR), and isosorbide mononitrate (Monoket, ISMO, Imdur). Nitrates may also be found in some recreational drugs such as poppers. Taking Revatio (sildenafil) with a medication containing nitrate may cause a serious decrease in blood pressure, which may lead to heart attack, stroke or fainting.
Before you start to take Revatio, inform your doctor if you are allergic to any medicine, or if any of the following applies to you:
* a stomach ulcer;
* heart disease or pulpitations;
* a history of a stroke, heart attack, or heart rhythm disorder in the past 6 months;
* heart failure;
* hypertension or hypotension;
* coronary artery disorder;
* liver or kidney disease;
* multiple myeloma, sickle cell anemia, or leukemia;
* hemophilia;
* retinitis pigmentosa;
* a physical deformity of the penis known as Peyronie's disease; or
* if you have been told by your doctor that you should abstain from sexual intercourse for health reasons.
If you any of these conditions apply to you, you may need a dose change of the drug.
Revatio may reduce blood flow to the optic nerve of the eye, and cause sudden vision loss. It is a rear side effect and has occurred in a small number of people using Revatio, most of whom also suffered from heart diseases, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, or certain eye problems which existed before starting Revatio, and in heavy smokers those over 50 years old. It has not been clearly established whether Revatio (sildenafil) is the real cause of vision loss.
Do not start Revatio without informing your physician if you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant during the treatment course. It is not known if Revatio is found in breast milk or if it could cause harm to a nursing baby. Tell you doctor i8f you are breast-feeding.

I you become dizzy, nauseated, or have pain, tingling or numbness in your neck, chest, jaw or arms during sexual intercourse, stop and contact your doctor as soon as possible.
